Good morning dear readers,
Hope you’re doing well! I’m currently drinking my bialetti coffee made using some exclusive coffee beans. I think I’m slowly learning how to use this Bialetti method but it does still taste a bit bitter…
2025 – what a year! I feel that it’s absolutely flown by – and it was definitely a year with some amazingly positive events!
I fufilled my dream of seeing the Eurovision Song Contest
ESC has always been the highpoint of my year. I’ve been watching it since I was a little girl. This year the ESC was hosted in Basel and we got tickets for the semi final and the final.
I remember walking into the St Jakobs hall and seeing the stage and then crying with absolute joy! It was a true highlight for me and a memory I will never forget!
I received an actual qualification!
This year I also took a state exam to become a certified health and safety specialist. The only qualification I’d had so far was my bachelor in Business Administration however in Switzerland most people also “learn their jobs” which means – doing an apprenticeship in that field. Luckily I’ve always been lucky with gaining employment and since 2021 I’ve been self employed – however I made the step to get a “proper certficate” and I actually passed (with a very good score I might add…)
On Wednesday I’ll get my diploma. I really feel proud of myself right now!
I learnt how to create videos and podcasts.
I taught myself how to use some video and audio software and I’m really proud of the videos I’ve made. I even made a full on Youtube video about Sex and the City and PPE. There are more ideas in the pipeline (involving PPE, Pokemon and Switzerland). I do have the dream of having PPEQuest be on Nebula one day!
I drove a car in Japan!!
This year I travelled to Singapore, Taiwan and Japan. I stayed on the tiny island of Ishigaki – part of Okinawa. It was an absolute dream. Waking up in the morning and drinking a coffee on the beach while watching an amazing sunrise. Then spending the day on a nearly private beach while reading so many books. It was so wonderful.
I have a fear of driving. (I once fell asleep at the wheel and nearly crashed/lost my life) but on Ishigaki you need to be able to drive – so I rented a car. Luckily the island doesn’t have that much traffic and the speed limit was 50 Km/h – so it was great! Ishigaki was truely wonderful. I kayaked, discovered a hidden waterfall and went shopping at an actual Japanese supermarket. Would definitely go again!
Well dear readers, this was a wonderful excersise for me. Reflecting on the good things that happened this year. It really brings a spark of positivity.
What about you? Please share some of your positive moments!
