*** You’ve been warned***

The past month has been an extremely stressful time for me. A mixture of work and a business degree combined with difficult life choices = a very tired and anti-social Laura.

Stresssss

However no matter how difficult it  all gets, I can always rely on my friends and family to keep me from going under, thus leading me to my next lesson –

Lesson 5: Nothing is more important than family and friends – XMAS Trip part 1

My christmas holiday feeling started on Wednesday the 17th. It had been yet another stressful day. Starting at 7:30 and finishing at 17:00. I had to take my bike to work so that I could get home quicker (and I hate cycling!)

After getting repeatedly overtaken by geriatrics you'll understand.

However shortly after 5, my doorbell rang and my friends started to arrive.

Every year at Xmas my friends and I traditionally make Xmas biscuits and watch Love Actually.

Having my friends there, all of us having a laugh…I completely forgot about my stress. It was fantastic – better than drugs (I imagine…).

On Saturday I travelled home and spent two wonderful days at the German markets in Birmingham.

PS – Lesson 4 also applies to German markets in other countries!

It was there that I got to meet up with some of my good friends from school.

The last time I had seen some of them was about 5 years ago however it felt as if we had just left school. Some topics of conversation may have changed a bit…

“Sorry I’m late – I got stuck on my yacht on Lake Windemere”

” Yes – the wedding plans are going well!”

” My project is allowing me to stay in Japan for 6 months to deal with the transportation of uranium waste”

but it was amazing nonetheless!

How cheesy do we look!

After a long day in Birmingham and a long 3 hour wait at New Street Station (which I  luckily survived by drinking green tea and reading books)  it was finally time to take the Cross Country and get home!

I arrived home at 11 PM and my mum made me my two favourite things – a cup of tea and cheese beano!

And so the Xmas season can begin!
